GTA 6 Pre-Orders Open at $79.99 - Two Editions, One Launch Day

Rockstar Games opened pre-orders for Grand Theft Auto VI at midnight local time on Thursday, June 25, 2026, rolling out region by region across the PlayStation Store, the Xbox/Microsoft Store, the Rockstar Games Store and physical retailers. The date itself was confirmed five days earlier, on June 20, through a Rockstar Newswire post headlined "Pre-Order Grand Theft Auto VI on June 25."
This is all confirmed by Rockstar's own channels. Pre-orders are for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S only - there is no last-gen version and no PC edition in this launch window. The release date remains November 19, 2026.
Two editions, and the $80 base price
The line-up is deliberately simple: a Standard Edition at $79.99 and an Ultimate Edition at $99.99, with no middle Deluxe tier. Both editions include the full campaign set across Leonida and following dual protagonists Jason and Lucia, and both release the same day.
This is the first mainline Grand Theft Auto to launch at an $80 base price. The $20 Ultimate premium is officially described as adding a collection of premium vehicles, personalized weapons, exclusive apparel and Ultimate-only shops and activities. The category of Ultimate extras is confirmed; the specific item names circulated by press are reported and not fully consistent between outlets. The pre-order bonus
Every pre-order of either edition placed before November 20, 2026 grants the Vintage Vice City Pack, delivered in-game at launch. Because the cutoff sits the day after release, buying at or shortly after launch still earns the pack - it is not strictly pre-launch-only.
Digital pre-orders additionally receive one free month of GTA+ (confirmed); this offer does not apply to boxed purchases. The itemised contents of the Vintage Vice City Pack - reported to include a classic sedan, vintage outfits and a palm-tree weapon finish - are reported rather than officially detailed.
What the physical box is - and isn't
The physical edition is Standard only, and the box contains a download code, not a disc. Boxes ship from November 12, 2026, a week ahead of launch, specifically so buyers can enter the code and pre-load. The Ultimate Edition is digital-only, so its extra content cannot be bought in a store.
As of the pre-order opening, Rockstar has announced no Collector's or Special physical edition - Ultimate is the ceiling. Third-party "steelbook" listings on marketplaces are unofficial merchandise, not a Rockstar product.
